Losing weight isn’t just about improving the way you look or even the way you feel, you need to realise that a diet to lose fat has many other health benefits.
Diabetes is one of the most obvious areas of concern with overweight people. A big section of the population have diabetes and find it hard to manage the health issues that go with it.
One of the biggest problems with diabetes is that it is a major cause of blindness. And diabetes is also a major cause of kidney disease.
Things don’t improve as the chances of having a stroke or heart disease rise 4-fold if you have diabetes.
In men being fat can also cause erectile dysfunction.
If you are too fat you ought to get your cholesterol levels looked at and your blood pressure as they could both be above healthy.
Losing just a little weight is a good thing and can very much aid your health. This also helps to lower the risk of you developing other diseases later in life.
Extra pounds can mean you snore as fat in the throat can get in the way of breathing when you are lying down. Thus you won’t sleep so well and the following day your energy is at a lower level.
Dropping even a small bit of body fat can lower your snoring quite considerably and the benefit from getting better quality sleep at night is you will have a lot more energy.
A danger with being tired is that people eat too much while attempting to replenish their energy. A double whammy, so take note of all the benefits dropping some extra fat can bring you.
Exercise to lose fat is not just about improving your looks. Being more healthy should be your main goal in life. Good health and good looks are not mutually exclusive. Clothing, make-up or even surgery can help you achieve this. But here’s a thought - Has anyone ever died from being unattractive?
